Once again we attended the Steubenville East High
School Youth Conference at the Ryan Center on the campus of U.R.I., and once
again the Holy Spirit moved in wonderful and powerful ways! The theme for
this year's conference was "Chosen"--reminding us that God loves us
with a perfect love, that he has redeemed us through the sacrifice of his Son,
and that he has chosen each and every one of us to go forth into the world and
bear good fruit for his kingdom. As St. John said, "We love
because he first loved us." (1 John 4: 19)
It was a life-changing experience for many of our teens.
As usual, there were lots and lots of confessions (which is always a sure sign
that the Lord is touching minds and hearts!).
It's my prayer that our
young people--and all those who attended the retreat--will stay close
to the Lord throughout their lives, following his plan and bearing good fruit
for the Church and for the world!
